Who is Pencookies?

Pencookies is me, Annemiek! Together with my three men – my husband and two sons – I moved from The Netherlands

to the busy and bubbling city of Kampala, the capital of Uganda. I started Pencookies because I really love to draw,

especially when it’s for something as special as a birth announcement card. When (future) parents are thrilled with

my design, it simply makes me happy!

What’s up with the name Pencookies?

When one of my sons wants to order the typical Dutch treat ‘pannenkoeken’ (pancakes) in English, he calls them

‘pencookies’ which obviously doesn’t quite cover it, but just sounds really sweet. I also draw with a pencil and a

pen and try to create something sweet, like cookies. Hence Pencookies!
